The concepts introduced about aging which will be use in understanding what this specific life stages means - primarily as a macro- concept. Its Emphasis is on the foundations of healthy aging, fundamentals of caring, coping with chronic disorders in late life as well as caring for older adults and their caregivers. Content also includes the developmental, physiological and psychological changes of the older adult in regard to health promotion, maintenance and restoration. Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment, decision-making, appropriate nursing interventions and dimensions of quality health care and quality standards for Health Provider Organizations. The course may include cases with Chronic illnesses like dealing with pain and comfort, diseases affecting vision and hearing, metabolic disorders, bone and joint problems, cardiovascular, pulmonary, renal, neurologic, cognitive impairment, mental health and multisystem alterations affecting the older person. The course will emphasize the application of knowledge, skills and attitudes within a legal and ethical framework thus the learners are expected to perform holistic nursing care of the older persons in wellness and chronic illness utilizing the nursing process."}
